I'm a Lisbon based UX Designer focused on user research.
My name is Filipe. I grew up in a small beach town called Figueira da Foz, Portugal. I've always been a curious and observant person, specially about how and why people behave in a certain way.
During my college years I noticed that being a gamer made me more aware of the intricacies of interactions and the way they are designed. Because of this, I started being interested in User Experience and when I graduated I knew I wanted to be in that field.
I broke into it by joining a startup as a Web Designer, but always focusing on the user and using data from analytics tools to back up my design decisions. I've also been involved in a few eLearning projects in Mozambique for 6 months, after being selected for INOV Contacto which is an international internship program.
I'm a very competitive individual and as such I'm always looking to improve my skills. I like having my work critiqued so I know where I'm going wrong and where I'm nailing it.
I love teamwork and I think comunication is key to develop a good relationship with others, making the design process seem clearer and easier to all team members be it engineers, copywriters, other designers or even clients and other stakeholders.
Dharma5Academy is a portuguese company that provides online courses ranging from life coaching to yoga and mindful parenting. They also made websites for their authors and helped manage their blogs.
As an Intern there, I helped develop and implement the user experience strategy for their platform including information architecture, UI and Web Design while collaborating with developers, copywriters and other designers.
Also implemented Mixpanel (analytics tool) in order to measure the success of their sales funnels through key metrics to help the company have a better grasp of how to improve it.
EDUdigital is a small company in Mozambique with roots in Portugal.
I was tasked with multiple web and elearning projects ranging from designing small websites and academic portals, designing elearning multimedia courses and facing clients and stakeholders to present my designs and standing by them in meetings.
Also had to manage corporate clients which allowed me to develop my interpersonal and communication skills.
During this course, I was tasked with several projects. I was mostly involved with the research, planning and presentation of these projects. You can check them out on my Portfolio.
Right now I'm involved in all sorts of projects with the INOV Contacto program.
